Tips for Caring for Refinished Furniture

By following these simple steps, you can maintain the beauty and longevity of your refinished furniture, ensuring it looks great and stays functional for years to come.

1. Avoid Extreme Weather Conditions

Please avoid extreme heat or cold conditions (such as leaving furniture in a garage) or extreme weather such as rain or snow (during transport) as this may cause damage to the furniture piece(s). Furniture should be brought into the home as soon as it arrives so that it can acclimate. When we deliver *, we use an enclosed trailer to avoid extreme weather conditions.

2. Allow for Sufficient Paint Cure Time

After refinishing, our furniture is stored in a climate controlled facility. Paint takes approximately 30 days to fully cure. Once you receive your furniture, please give the piece(s) additional time to cure completely.

3. Furniture Cleaning and Care

Use a soft cloth or microfiber towel to clean furniture. Pledge or warm water with mild soap may also be used after fully cured. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive sponges that can scratch or damage the finish. Once cleaned, dry the surface thoroughly to prevent water spots. Always use coasters, placemats, or protective pads under items like glasses, mugs, or hot plates to avoid water rings or heat marks.

4. Touch Up Chips or Scratches
Small chips or scratches can occur over time, but they can usually be fixed easily. Use the touch-up paint provided or wood markers that match the finish of the furniture.

5. Secure Furniture to the Wall (Child and Pet Safety)
If you have children or pets in the home, it’s important to secure your refinished furniture to the wall to prevent tipping. Use furniture straps or anti-tip brackets to anchor tall or heavy pieces.
